Never heard of 'hippies' at that time
Never heard of "hippies" at that time

Born in Paia and lived there until my sophomore year at St. Anthony High School.  Then moved to Kahului and decided to go to Baldwin my Junior and Senior Year.  That’s where I met Sabas and before you know it, we’re best friends married for 40 plus years.

We dread winter!
We dread winter!

Lots of our information is the same as we have been together so long.  We love Oregon and its seasons, although we dread winter and look forward to Spring and Summer and even Fall.  I think my favorite time is Fall with the beautiful colors and the warm sun during the day and the cool nights that make it easier to sleep.

Milwaukie does get a lot of rain but that’s what makes Oregon so green and beautiful.

I love it so much!
I love it so much!

I am still working in the Kindergarten class and will do so probably until my 65th birthday.  I love it so much and the fact that I have summers off is very appealing.  I have been at Christ the King for 22 years, but before that I worked for Jantzen Knitting Mills for 13 years as a office assistant in the tag and label department.

We never go to bed mad. We just agree to dis-agree.
We never go to bed mad. We just agree to dis-agree.

Sabas and I have a philosophy that we never go to bed mad.  If there were ever an disagreements we would resolve it right away.  Life is too short to be mad at the one you love.

We have a lot of humor in our lives and many friends that we share it with.

Faith is very important.
Faith is very important.

Our faith is very important and when Sabas was injured at work in 2003 which had him retiring early, our faith got us through all of the rehab.  Sabas does not like to share about his accident, but he had to have a lot of rehab and we are so grateful that he is doing good and can enjoy his retirement.

See you at the next reunion.
See you at the next reunion.

Hang Loose fellow “bears” and we look forward to seeing many of you at the next reunion.

Born and raised in Puunene, Camp 4 with my four brothers and sister. It’s been a long time since those “hana butta days” but there were the “BEST” of days.  It was fun growing up in Puunene even when times were hard.

I am grateful to my parents.

My Pa worked as a laborer for HC&S and my Ma did lots of different jobs.  We raised chickens as well as pigs and had a garden that gave us lots of vegetables.

Growing up with Tomas, Harry, Michael, Tommy, Stephen, Bernardo, Clifford Benjamin, Francis, Roger, Alan, Sandra, Doreen, Karen, Barbara and Dolores made it fun.  We did not have a lot, but we had a great time growing up.
